STARTING OUT

We started making caramels back in the ’90s with our family recipe. We were able to make caramels for the holidays, and did that for a while. Friends would say, "you should sell these!" At first, we thought they were just being nice, but then a close friend procured a small stall at our local walk street fair. We sold out! Now, after selling our special recipe at local farmers markets and events in our local Manhattan Beach community, we had some help to get us online too!

CREATING CARAMELS

When we started to think about doing this as a business, we began trying different flavors other than our original sea salt vanilla caramel. We have to make it the best we can, so we tried different flavors that are now being added to the site monthly. It’s that classic sweet and salty combination that we shoot for.

We still sell mostly our original sea salt caramels, but people are trying our new flavors too. They’ve gotten a little more daring. We have about 10 flavors, but at any one time we have maybe 4-6 available. 

SPECIAL REQUESTS

One of the most requested flavors has been our new Eggnog flavor. This didn't surprise us as it's our favorite holiday flavor as well!

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT

All you need is a stove, a pot, spoon and a good candy thermometer. We don’t use any crazy machines; everything is done by hand. And of course, we use only all-natural ingredients in our caramels.
